WebTVAsia, Asia’s biggest Multi-Channel Network (MCN) and digital studio, has signed an agreement on a multi-year partnership with global video platform, Dailymotion for a 100-channel roll-out, as well as exclusive co-production for the Asian market.
National Film Development Corporation (Finas) director-general Kamil Othman, in a statement issued by WebTVAsia today, said the agreement is in line with the Malaysian Government’s aspiration to encourage and nurture the growth of the next generation of digital content companies within its shores to become truly global players.
“WebTVAsia has proudly set the wheels in motion and we give our fullest support to the endeavour,” he said.
The agreement was in conjunction with MIP Digital Fronts, an international business-to-business expo in Cannes, Frances, from April 13 until 16.
Kamil led the Malaysian delegation to the event.
Meanwhile, WebTVAsia group chief executive officer Fred Long conveyed a very optimistic outlook on the collaboration when he said: “Dailymotion is the leading video platform globally and WebTVAsia is privileged to work with our first of many European partners to penetrate the exciting Asian market.”
